Kennedy’s First-Ever Soapbox Speech Contest. Parents, Kennedy is excited to announce our first-ever Soapbox Speech Contest coming up next month. Is your student concerned with issues affecting their community? Do they have great ideas on how those issues can be solved? Do they like sharing their unique, powerful voice and opinion? Do they want more public speaking opportunities?
Since you likely answered yes to those questions, have them come to the next two Saturday Academies. On January 21, they will learn all about Soapbox Speeches and have the chance to research and draft a speech. Then, they’ll come back on February 4th to compete in our first Soapbox Speech Contest on campus, with the opportunity to enter the AUHSD District Soapbox Challenge. Look at the attached graphic and have them scan the code to sign up, or come talk to Mrs. Soeltz in Room 411 for more information.
