No School on Monday February, 20 - President’s Day

 

On-Campus Tutoring After School is available for all scholars Monday-Wednesday and Friday. Tutoring is offered in the library from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. No appointment is needed. 

 

For Senior students and families: 

  • Part 2 of Financial Aid Parent Night will be February 15th hosted at Cypress High School. Discussion on Financial Aid awards and budgeting will be discussed, see flyer.

  • 20 Civic and Service Hours are due April 7th, make sure to upload hours to Thrively, printed instructions available in the Counseling Center.

 

Class of 2023. Remember in order to get 2 years free at the community college, Financial Aid applications must be completed.  Seniors need to complete the following steps to get access to Anaheim Pledge's 2 years free:

FAFSA Application Deadline is March 2, 2023 

 

School Site Council Meeting. Wednesday, Feb. 15th, at 3:30 pm in Room 101 -- The School Site Council (SSC) is composed of the principal, teachers, other school personnel, parents and students.  It provides a forum for all of Kennedy's constituents to come together, identify common goals, and establish a plan to achieve these goals.  This involvement occurs through the development of the SPSA (School plan for student achievement), the continuous review of the implementation of the plan, the assessment of the effectiveness of the plan, and the ongoing review and updating of the school plan.  It is also a forum for you to receive on-going up to date information regarding the school and provide input representing your specific group.

 

Youth Development Section with the City of Anaheim Youth in Government Day program being held on Wednesday, February 22nd at the Downtown Anaheim Community Center. The theme for this year's Youth in Government day is "Community Rebuild" where we have built a curriculum for students to have the opportunity to explore the question of "How can the City of Anaheim improve the quality of life in an effort to rebuild communities for residents?" The deadline for students to register is Friday, February 3rd. 

 

Fullerton College: Teaching Matters ConferenceThe Teaching Pathway Program is having their annual Teaching Matters Conference for high school students interested in the education field. This event will be on Saturday, March 11th from 10:00a – 12:30p at Fullerton College. For more details please see the attached flyer. Please feel free to share this flyer with your students who might be interested in attending and with your staff who can help spread the word. Coffee with the Principal. Join us for our next Coffee with the Principal on Friday February 24, 2023 at 9 am in the  Kennedy Parent Center (Room 701). If you are unable to attend in person, please join us virtually via Zoom. 

 

AUHSD LCAP Survey. Please take a moment to participate in the Spring 2023 AUHSD LCAP Survey. The survey will help AUHSD understand the progress toward District-wide goals for student achievement and community involvement. The survey is anonymous, available in multiple languages, and accessible via link. Thank you for taking the time to improve our community.

 

TGR Learning Lab. TGR learning lab has extended the deadline to register for their Spring 1 session to next Friday, Feb. 17th.  The spring session is Tuesday, Feb. 21st to Thursday, March 23rd. To register please use the hyperlink to see the flyer. 

 

PTSA Nominations for the 23-24 Board. The election of officers for the 2023-2024 term will be conducted within the next few months. The nominating committee has been elected and will be meeting over the next month to present the slate of officers by the end of February. We need your help!!! Please use the link to submit your interest in one or more of our Board positions and/or to submit your recommendations for nominees for those same positions. Deadline to submit is February 24, 2023 at noon!

 

PTSA HSA NOMINATIONS. PTSA Honorary Service Award nominations are open now.  Please use the hyperlink to the google form to nominate a volunteer, deserving of an award for their service to the school.  Nominations are open until February 28, 2023.
