ANNOUNCEMENTS

Friendly Reminder. Students, please make sure you bring your Chromebooks or personal computing devices to school everyday, fully charged and ready to be used. It is very important to do this as you may be using these devices for various courses at our school. In addition, please start building the habit of charging your Chromebooks or personal devices every night to ensure it is ready the day after. It is always greatly appreciated that a student comes prepared. 

Parents/Guardians and families, please make sure your child brings their Chromebooks or personal computing devices to school everyday, fully charged and ready to be used. It is very important to do this as you may be using these devices for various courses at our school. Please remind your child every night to charge their devices and pack it in their backpacks for the morning. We very much appreciate your help in this and to help them build these positive habits as they go about this new school year.

 

In case You Missed It: 9th Graders: If you still have textbooks from Walker Junior High, please return those textbooks to Walker immediately to avoid fines. New Parent Orientation 2023-2024

 

Bell Schedules.

 

School Site Council. We are welcoming you to our first School Site Council meeting which will be held on Wednesday, August 30th at 3:30 p.m. in Room 101. Here is the agenda for the meeting. 

 

The Shamrock Regiment. The Shamrock Regiment will be performing the National Anthem before the Angels game on September 7th around 6 PM. View Level tickets are available for purchase through our online store for $15 each. https://www.charmsoffice.com/public/shopgpstart.asp 

The School Code is shamrockregiment (all one word) and then you'll select the shopping cart for Guest Shopping. If you don't already have a student in the band or color guard program, you will need to create an account so we know how to contact you and deliver your ticket order. To pay by credit card, select Affinipay from the drop down menu at Checkout.

 

Chromebook and Hotspot Update. If your student has checked out a chromebook from the school, buying insurance is highly recommended. Families have 30 days from the beginning of school to purchase insurance. The insurance is $30 for the 2023-24 school year and covers any physical damage that may be done to the device that causes it to no longer function properly.  Chromebook insurance does not cover a lost device. You can purchase insurance through www.schoolpay.com

 

If your student is in need of a hotspot to access the internet at home, please reach out to our FACES representative, Mr. Cruz cruz_p@auhsd.us

 

PTSA. If you missed the chance to purchase spirit wear items during registration week, PTSA will be collecting orders through August 25th.  Complete the attached form.  Anticipated order delivery is early September.

Community Resources

Join us for our fall Fourth District Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday September 16, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Ralph B. Clark Regional Park located at 8800 Rosecrans Ave., Buena Park, CA 90621.

 

Residents of the Fourth District, including the cities of Stanton, Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra, Brea, Placentia, and portions of Anaheim, may RSVP for the Kids Fishing Derby until the event capacity is reached.

Kids ages 15 and younger may participate in the Fishing Derby. Fishing roads will be available at no-cost while supplies last. Bait will also be provided.

 

READY, SET, GO! Program. We are delighted to invite you to our district-created program, "Ready, Set, Go," designed exclusively for parents like you who play a vital role in shaping their child's academic success.

 

Ready, Set, Go is a comprehensive three-module course aimed at equipping parents with the knowledge and tools to support their students at school and remain actively engaged in their education. Our goal is to empower you to become informed and effective advocates for your child's learning experience, both at home and within our school community.

 

Each module will delve into essential topics that will enable you to foster a positive and nurturing learning environment for your child. You will gain insights into various tools and systems employed by our school district, which will further enhance your ability to support your child's academic growth.
